Yeosu Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries
is an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Our work covers general maritime-and-port related issues for 3 cities and 5 counties in the eastern part of Jeollanam-do, including Yeosu port and Gwangyang port.
In particular, we are dedicated to the construction of a container berth and its operational growth in Gwangyang port as the port is emerging as the logistics center of Northeast Asia. We are also using our best endeavors to take a leap forward to become the maritime powerhouse in the 21st century by preserving the maritime environment and improving marine security management; increasing marine transportation convenience for island residents and boosting marine tourism as well as raising people’s awareness of the maritime industry.
You gain real-time access to the most updated information on port administration and statistics, shipping and new port construction and more at our website. In addition, this homepage posts more public management information so as to help realize people-friendly maritime and port administration. Teenagers can sign up for the on-line maritime academy here. It is also a venue to push port sales in order to advance both Yeosu port and Gwangyang port to the rank of world class ports. We also believe that marine tourism, a key ingredient to improve the life quality of our citizens, will be revitalized through this site.
We will continue to work hard to develop this site not only for information sharing but also to have an open space where local residents, stakeholders and all Korean citizens can raise their voices. To that end, we need your full support and heartfelt advice.
