Our administration began to construct an international logistics complex (in the hinterland) to promote Gwangyang port to the logistics hub of Northeast Asia from 2003. The construction was completed in July, 2012 with a hinterland of 3.88㎡. Currently, 26 tenants are in operation in the East hinterland while the West hinterland is still attracting businesses.

Gwangyang Port Hinterland (Waterfront Area)

Ports were built mainly for trade and transportation in the past, but they are now developed to create and use a new urban space. In particular, waterfront has become an essential area with increasing marine leisure activities, and to meet growing requirements for eco-friendly ports. Gwangyang Port created a harmonized space that functions as a part of urban space responding to this new trend. Gwangyang Port is now standing shoulder-to-shoulder with world-class ports.
